Tenancy law

Tenancy Law is a special part of contract law. In a leasing contract the landlord grants a tenant the use of an object in exchange for the payment of rent. The Swiss law guarantees the tenants minimal legal standards that must be ensured by the landlord (especially when one party intends to terminate the contract). Contractual provisions contradicting the minimal legal standards are invalid. We advise landlords as well as tenants on their legal obligations and options.
